What's of interest in Europe?

My daughter's school-exchange girl is coming over from L.A. in a month and we want to show her around Europe a bit during her 4 weeks-stay.

What is especially interesting for U.S.-Americans?
We live nearby a castle I can see from my studio, so that will be definitely one thing...

Any suggestions for a 17-year-old are welcome!

I wish I could help but I live in Europe myself.

Having said that, I have been close to several persons coming all the way from America, and visiting my beautiful City. Which is BATH City in Somerset, England.

Where exactly do you live in Europe ?

Yes, sure the Castle. Well, not too sure really, unless there is a Conservatory full of home bread exotic beautiful Butterflies, for instance.
Or a Garden Party when one can witness the flying Performance of a trained small Eagle.
What about going on a Balloon trip ?!
Or, hiring a small Canal Boat for the duration of a day ?!
Or simply rowing a Boat on a very lovely River ?!
A visit to the local Market ?!

After that, an evening in a live Jazz Cafe Bar is a must.

I highly recommend Berlin or the Rhein I live in Germany and those are my two favorite places here. Berlin is full of incredible history. You can even show her Napoleon's hat which is in the Berlin museum of history. At the Rhein, there is a place called Dreiburgenblick (Three Castle View) where you can see three castles all at once. It's probably the most beautiful place I've ever stood. Just stunning.

I was going to say boys or McDonalds,lol, but hopefully she is coming because she has an interest in Germany, maybe she's taken German in school or perhaps her ancestors are from there. She has to be 21 in California to legally buy beer
maybe she is a beer affectionado? I would say that the way you live and eat everyday would be more interesting than to necessarily be entertained, especially the touristy areas where all the Americans hang out,lol! Do they serve blood sausage at the German McDonalds,lol! JK

A trip to the UK is a must. I live in Denmark but love the UK. Can't go wrong with that. London or Edinburgh maybe.

Venice is a marvelous and unique city. From there go to Verona for the Arena and Juliet's balcony and take a train up to Innsbruck for great scenery.

Yes, too much to list in London, and so much in one small area.
If she's into The Beatles, Abbey Road's a must.
The Beatles tour in Liverpool, and a Ferry Cross The Mersey!
You might catch the Edinburgh Festival in August; lots of very talented street performers, which won't cost you a penny, unless of course you drop some into their caps.
Alton Towers in Staffordshire is the UK's top theme park.
The beautiful Lake District.
The Scottish Highlands, and a few whisky distilleries along the wayhay!
