80s Glam Rock Ballad For Sync

Post by dtrain1986 » Mon Feb 03, 2025 5:56 pm

Hi everyone,

I wrote a lyric that I gave to a friend to put music to. It wasn't for a specific listing but I asked for a 80s glam rock ballad. I'm looking for feedback on lyrics, melody and production. My goal is to have this placed in sync. Here's a link to the track.

"Cold Heart"

I'm always looking for co-writers to help me with putting music to lyrics in exchange for an even songwriter credit if anything happens with the song. Also trying to find my top 3 genres then will focus on them. Thanks for your time and feedback.

Darin

Hi Darin, I'm new to the forums, but have been a Taxi member since 2001. I thought this was a really great 80's rock ballad! I liked the lyrics and the melody/progression. Great job! I sing in an 80's pop cover/tribute band so I'm totally immersed in 80's music all the time! I thought this definitely sounded like something you'd hear from that decade.

This is really cool! Those vocals sound totally authentic like straight out of the 80s

This is so well-done. The song is so 80's, like late 80's Warrant, Faster Pussycat and Tesla, Fantastic. I wanted to give constructive criticism but there isn't much room for improvement. Excellent work.

You will find a home for this for sure....A few months ago, there were a bunch of TAXI briefs for this type of material!! I am sure you will see another one before too long!
I don't know what it is, but the hairband stuff seems to be coming back a little bit.... I see neighborhood kids running around in old Warrant, Motley Crue, etc vintage concert t-shirts all of the time... Maybe it is a joke, maybe it is a retro fashion thing? Who knows?

Nothing to say apart from LOVE IT !

I am a rock freak, as many of my co-writers will attest to :D

The vocal coming in good and early is a great tactic to attract a sups attention, especially when the person has a voice like this !

More please !
