Just wondering if anybody knows anything about the Nashville Demo Studio. I have been trying to contact them with no luck. I have been unable to find their website or a good phone #.
Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hello Bill,
are you talking about Larry's? I thought it was
http://www.beairdmusicgroup.com If your taking about Jason that's different. I use Studio Pros in LA and I think there good at what they do. I was very impressed with they're vocals on my song.
I hope that helps,
Alan

I've worked with NDS and had good results.
For some reason, right now their website
www.nashvilledemostudio.com is down. I know they went through a lot of changes this past year-- not sure what's going on.

For the record, I have used Beaird Music Group, and I think they are fantastic. Ott

Thanks to all for your response! I have used NDS before and was very pleased with the results. I saw a post on facebook that Jimi Whitelaw (co-owner) was having some health issues. I haven't been able to confirm this because I have been unable to contact them.
Thanks again to all,
Bill

I also heard that Jimi is dealing with health issues, and I've not been able to reach her.
Try this, same studio and players.

First, wishing Jimi the best regarding her health. My thoughts are with her.
Chip Hardy is a good guy and a long time Taxi friend.

I wouldn't hesistate to contact him.
One thing to keep in mind with ANY demo studio is that for film/TV, you need signed work-for-hire/master release agreements from the musicians involved. Without that, you can't pitch for film/TV since you can't legally certify that you have 100% ownership and control of the master recording with no one else able to make claims. Sometimes, especially with Nashville players, this will cost you additional money... often well spent if you truly want to do film/TV pitches.
NDS did give such a release with their demos. I don't know what Chip's policy is on that. Also, only a music lawyer can tell you if a release from the studio itself (signed by the studio owner) is as valid as one signed by each individual musician by name. Personally, for me down the road, I'm only going to accept individual agreements signed by each musician.
I know folks who didn't get master releases early on from NDS (before it was their standard policy). They figured they could always go back and get them later if needed. This situation is one reason why it is always best to get that right away at the time of the demo. You never know who will still be in business, be reachable, etc. in the future.
Again, wishing Jimi the best regarding her health and all of you best of luck on your demos.

I used NDS recently and I was very satisfied. The song is called "You Taught Me That" on my Taxi page.
Wishing the best to Jimi and NDS.

Hello,
I have used Nashville Demo Studio on a couple of occasions with Chip Hardy producing some demos, and was very happy with it. I also got confused when it changed, so I asked Chip Hardy at the rally where to go to get the exact same demo-experience.
Turns out the "old" NDS is now called studio 515
http://www.the515studio.com. It is located in the same studio, and with the same musicians, and Chip Hardy is there still. The New NDS is somewhere else, I don't know anyting about it. I will be recording something there though, as I had already paid for a 2-for-1 package and my credits is only valid at the new NDS.
When it comes to the legal side of it - Give them a call and ask. I have not used them since it changed, so I don't want to have an opinion here
