Like most other genres, country has atomized into several subgenres.

Swift is Disney, country, pop at the same time.

Guilty pleasures. I'm a fan too. I think she's great. I like well crafted songs and let's face it, she's great at it! She loves music and it shows.

She's an android created in a laboratory in Nashville and set loose upon the world to destroy normal songwriters everywhere.... She's quite impressive.

I always had a feeling that Nashville had some mad scientists working behind the scenes, creating these Transformer like super robots that could suck the really good songs out of the sky before they landed on some poor unsuspecting songwriter.

I believe if you sneak into Nashville in the dead of night and journey into their deepest vaults, you will find the likes of Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift and many others locked in glass chambers, staring back at you with their cold dead eyes, just waiting to be loosed upon another song sucking day.

But beware, once you have looked upon their faces, there is no escaping, for as you try to leave, the darkest of ghosts will be standing at the door, with these haunting words...Hi I'm Johnny Cash!

Yes

From my perspective, she is an Artist Entrepreneur. She is the unabashed CEO of her corporation. She makes the decisions for her business. She is not dependent on a manager to take care of her money, marketing or career. But she knows how to delegate.

And she is a master marketer. Not because she understands hype. But because she understands her target market and is willing to fully engage with them in a meaningful way. As a result, she creates lifetime fans who are devoted to her, share her with others and will buy anything and everything she puts out.

I think she is a very interesting case study.
