Paul Reed Smith Guitar or $500 for Rally Giveaway?

As many of you know, each year at the Road Rally (November 6th-9th), we do a drawing for a giveaway right after the Keynote. Paul Reed Smith Guitars may sponsor the Rally this year. If I can get them to give us a guitar (your choice of electric or acoustic) as the Keynote prize, would you like that idea instead of the $500 cash? Cast your votes. And it can't be an either or prize. We'll have to give either the cash or the guitar, as it would be embarrassing to have somebody walk up and say, "I'd rather have the cash."
Thanks for your votes!
Michael

For me, not being a guitar player, I would vote for the cash.
But I think the guitar is a great draw too.
Thanks for asking,
Kayle

I would think that there would be enough non-guitar players to go with the cash...
But... To have a Rally guitar "memento" could be awesome...
+1 for Guitar
I think the memory associated with the guitar would be priceless...

I vote guitar. $500 you spend on bills the second you get home and it's gone, guitar lasts forever, unless your my bass player, then you hock it to pay part of last months rent...

I'm a guitar player so of course I say +1 for the guitar.
Mr Reed-Smith makes some wonderous guitars and like Eo said, guitar lasts forever.
(Maybe get them to discreetly put the Taxi logo on the back of the headstock and reinforce the unique nature of the giveaway.)
Best / Steve

PRS guitars is a prestigious brand. $649 and up from a famous discounter's catalog. A couple of advantages for the guitar instead of the cash, if PRS is sponsoring the rally, it looks better when they list it under news on their website if they will be providing a guitar in the giveaway, otherwise, what does sponsoring really mean to the average Joe without a guitar contribution?? It would seem odd that a sponsor of an event didn't donate one of their products or services to be given away. There's a good chance they wouldn't donate the cheapest guitar in their line, if that's the case, I'm sure the prize could quickly be converted to cash, probably for more than the $500 by a private negotiation by a fellow taxi member at the rally, making for two winners instead of only one! Though even 22% off ($500) for the cheapest one's price, what the guitar can be purchased for, is nothing to sneeze at either. No vote, just an observation, lol!

My vote is for the guitar. $500 might be spent on bills, groceries, gas, cars, gambling, etc, and won't have any "memento" qualities, and may not ever be used on a person's musical ambitions. Whereas a killer guitar - even if a person doesn't play it themselves - will be in a musician's life for many many years, and would probably give great memories of the Rally each time a person uses it.
But I'm kind of a sentimental guy, haha.

A quality guitar (plus, who knows, the winner might gather a few celebrity signatures on it while at the rally

)...
will at least hold its value, if not increase; whereas the cash, even if put in a savings account, will be worth LESS in a year's time. argh.
So, that's a +1 for the guitar; fwiw.
