Hi I'm Matcham from the east coast of Australia. Byron Bay. Some of you may even have visited. We get loads of international visitors.
I've been checking out Taxi for some years now while i build production and song-writing skills. Taxi TV and related resources are proving a big help in this department. At this point I'm wondering whether I should plunge into membership and I guess hanging out in this forum is a step in that direction. Are my production skills up to scratch? Is my music marketable? I'm hoping some of you can guide me. For a long time Taxi has set the bar for my musical endeavours.
Anyway I look forward to catching up with you. BTW I write in a style that reflects my long term interest in country blues and singer songwriter styles firmly rooted in... roots.

Welcome to the forum Matcham.
You've got some great songs going on your SC page - did you write the Mandolin Orange song? Bit of a Guy Clark feel going on there to me which I adore.
Regarding Taxi membership, take the plunge! Join up today! The critiques you will will get for music you submit are worth the entrance fee!
This place is such a great school.
Cheers/Steve

Welcome to the forum! Getting involved in this community is a great first step. I know of no better place to hone your musical and production skills. You should definitely join Taxi, if possible with a multi-year membership. Its the best value. Looking forward to hearing more of your music.

Thank you everyone for your encouraging words, and especially for taking the time to listen to a few tracks. The Mandolin Orange song is a simple SC repost as I like it. The others are all mine from go to woe. I like the Guy Clark reference as he is indeed a reference point. The comment that song feedback is worth the entry fee alone is definitely worth thinking about. It's exactly what I feel I need to get to the next level.

Greetings, Mr. Caine.
After a quick listen to a few tunes, including "Next To Nothing" (I presume Mandolin Orange is the name of the band/artist repost) as mentioned in previous comments.
To these old-dude ears, your songs and production certainly sound at the level of professionalism for pitching to Taxi listings.
I will go back to your SC page and enjoy some more roots listening.
Welcome aboard... take the ride.
Cheers.

Thanks heaps Peter. Digging your music too. Just sent you a PM on SC (love these funky acronyms).
