Introducing myself

Hi Everyone,
I am a composer based in North Italy and I joined TAXI last November, after I have known its existence for quite a few years. My background is baroque-classical music and jazz. My main area of work is composing music for video game, film and a couple of music libraries and I teach composition and orchestration with virtual instruments at a Music for picture course in Milan.
My strength is orchestral themes (plus the occasional electronics presence) but I like to write in different styles or genres. Concert music is another genre I am interested in and write, since I like to use traditional (and less traditional) notation and get away from my DAW sometimes.
I finally joined TAXI because I was looking for an opportunity to challenge myself with new briefs/deadlines, getting feedback from people who really knows music for picture and its industry. I also wish to explore songwriting more than I did, as a creative area in which I see myself.
I also look forward to creating a good routine to inject more live-performance into my pieces by collaborating or hiring other musicians, particularly (but not limited to) the songs.
Nice to (virtually) meet you. I now go downstairs into the bunker to try and hit that cryptic 'String-based instrumental'...
Best regards,
Alessandro
