New to Taxi!

Hello fellow Taxi members!
It’s great, really great to finally write here as a Taxi subscriber…

I've actually joined about a month ago but couldn't manage to get my account setup correctly for the forum because of a technical issue but now I'm here!

I'm a composer based in Turin (and Rome... a bit of back and forth), Italy.

Have a great day and happy writing!
A.

So many Italian speakers ;)
I already like it in here!
I'm honestly looking forward to be part of this community.
I've been a composer since 3 years more or less (I guess I consider the beginning of it my graduation from Berklee) but only now I'm starting to get serious into composing for libraries. It was my new year resolution.
I hope it works! If any of you has suggestions I'm eager to learn...

Yep!
- Throw yourself in - just do it.
- Listen to other Forwards and Successes and be inspired by them.
- Work out what types of music you're good at and enjoy, but also try new things.
- Ask questions if you can't find answers already in the forum.
- Post your work on Peer-to-Peer to gauge reactions.
- Read every detail on listings and listen analytically to example tracks.
- Submit wisely, but don't be afraid to do it (its worth $5 just to know what the screener thought).
- Learn from every piece you create and all the feedback.
- Be prepared for each next step, join a PRO and learn some business terminology.
- Watch Taxi TV.
- Go to the Rally.
- Settle in for the long haul
- Maintain the momentum.
- Love what you do.
...and lots of other stuff, but that'll do for now. :)
I'm sure others will have more suggestions.
A lot of fantastic advice here, thank you! As for the "go to the rally", I'll work on it but.. not exactly around the corner but will see, I have a bunch of friends in LA, hope to find a couch to sleep on ;)
When are the dates roughly announced normally?
