Hello Taxi -
Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to the forum and introduce myself as a new member.
After dabbling with music for awhile, about a year ago, I finally decided to do some actual writing and recording. To learn about production, I ended up watching a lot of YouTube videos and also discovered Taxi TV. I really like Michael’s show! I can’t believe the wide range of topics he covers, plus all the examples and “ear training”, too.
For now, I have not joined Taxi (the organization) as I just want to experiment a bit more with my own recordings before getting too serious about anything. Maybe someday though. Currently, I’m playing a lot of guitar and reading Robin Frederick’s book on songwriting… and hoping to record some more, soon! My website has a few tracks posted if you want examples, but I am primarily into rock, jazz and electronic music. Why be terrible just one thing at a time?
Anyway, I’m based out of southeast Michigan and have also been learning photography and video making. I look forward to exchanging ideas so feel free to hit me up with any questions / comments you may have.
Cheers!
