I'm new to the forum!

Hi everyone,
I'm taking some advice from what I read online here. My name is Brian and I've been a Taxi member for a number of years. I've had some forwards but nothing really came of them until just recently. I just received a contract from a licensing company for my Christmas tune! I know it's not a huge deal or anything but I'm pretty happy that my song made it to the company that created the listing and that they liked it enough to want to add it to their library. Honestly, I'm not sure as what happens next with that. I imagine that they'll reach out, if they can find a home for my song. If anyone has any advice for me, feel free to post a reply. Although I've been making music for years, I really don't have any experience with music licensing.

Thanks for listening,
Brian

P.S. Would a post like this belong in Success Stories or Forwards? And do you typically post the advert and your song in your post? I know that you are not supposed to list the company but I'm not sure about the listing .

Hey Brian, welcome to the forum! And congrats on the deal, that’s awesome. Sounds like a success story to me 8-) you’re free and clear to post as long as there are no library names in there! Look forward to hearing it :)

Hi Brian. Welcome, you are in the game it sounds. Regarding posting, you can do what you want. I listen to the forwards blog a lot, so if you make the music public in your profile, it will be accessable from there.

Congratulations Brian! Keep up the good work!

Like you, I am new to the forum and want to know more about licensing agreements.
Did you signup with a Performing Rights Organization (PRO)? I thought the PRO was supposed to keep track of your stuff so you receive royalties.
