New to Taxi. Presentation and a question

Hi guys!
I just recently signed up as a member and thought I´d introduce myself.

My name is Niklas, I´m a songwriter from Stockholm, Sweden. I´ve been writing songs for well over a decade now, and I thought it´s about time do do something other than having them collect dust on my hard-drive. So here goes! :)

I primarily write in the genres: singer/songwriter, blues, country and neosoul, soul and some rock. I´m also interested in co writers.

I´ve heard a lot of good things about TAXI, and I´m eager to develop my skills and of course to land a placement or two in the future ( fingers crossed!)

Now to my question:
I have made a submission to a listing and uploaded my track ,but I didn't´t make it public. What is customary to do when submitting songs? Is it ok to make it public before getting an answer on the listing, or does it ruin/ lower the songs chances of getting forwards since its´been out "in public" (even if the public only means available to taxi members)?

I´m looking forward to interact with you guys as I´m learning the ropes!

All the best and stay safe
//Niklas

Hi Niklas,
The submission goes through to the screeners regardless, the "PUBLIC " is an option for your song to be shared by you or heard by others...it is not downloadable if you don't click on that option if this is a concern...so to the best of my knowledge it does not affect your chances.

Hi Niklas,
Welcome, I was in Stockholm last year for a music conference at the “Kungliga Musikhøgskolan” / Royal College of Music. I enjoyed the city very much with art in the subways and all!

Regarding the “public” option, if you get forwarded, your song/ track will be listed in the “Forwards” blog that many members follow. If you dont make it public, your tracks wont show up there. I think thats the only consequence.

I usually do not make covers and songs public, as they might be signed elsewhere or released. But if you can, its good to show your work to fellow composers as a cv for collaborations.

The forwards blog is here (great for checking what is forwarded for the listings): https://blog.taxi.com/forward/
