Hi guys :)

I want to write a song about Nasville's seemingly never ending resentment towards new music (like Shania Twain and Taylor Swift),
and I wonder if you could help me out with titles. So far I've got these:

-songbird in a cage
-denture in his beer
-the dodo isn't dead
-not on my watch!
-one string guitar
-one wheel truck
-tree legged horse
-country cuckoos
-chain around my boots
-trashville
-muck on my truck

If anybody wants to cowrite, let me know :D

As one who likes Classic Country - i.e. songs with accompaniment that includes pedal steel guitar, fiddle, and a bit of Telecaster 'twang'...
I also think Shania & Taylor's songs - even the not-Country songs - are usually of the highest caliber.

Seems to me the resentment mostly centers around the labeling of music that incorporates elements of Pop, Southern Rock, and electronic music, and other such,
which isn't a rejection of those artists - but a push-back about selling them off within the Country genre.
The resentment seems more about the blurring of the types of genre... and certainly there are many hybrids that work, and are marketable.

Here's a title for ya:
It Aint Bad - It Just Aint Country
:?
If you wanna a more cynical approach, how'bout
If It Aint Country - It Aint Music

i think i prefer your first suggestion of the two ;)

and yes, i think you're right, the resentment is about incorporating elements from other genres, such as pop, as you mentioned.
for this reason i find country very stale and boring. i keep hearing the same sound/production, same melodies, same development, same voices.
the only thing that sets the songs apart are the lyrics. but then again, i guess this is something that applies to many genres, not just country.
but i like the old country though, like willie nelsson, chris kristofferson, johnny cash. but modern country...nahh.

ChatGPT

Certainly! Here are some title ideas for a song about Nashville's perceived resentment towards new music:

"Echoes of Tradition"
"Melody's Rebellion"
"Unheard Harmonies"
"Resentment's Melody"
"Notes of the Past"
"The Nashville Strain"
"New Voices, Old Grudges"
"Dissonant Reception"
"Nashville's Ghosts"
"The Sound of Resistance"

Feel free to mix and match or modify these suggestions to fit your song's theme and style. Good luck with your songwriting!
Isn't ChatGPT so polite? Awesome!

I asked it what it thinks about the OP's ideas:
These are all interesting and creative ideas! Here's my feedback on each of them:

"Songbird in a Cage" - This title conveys the idea of an artist feeling confined or restricted within the Nashville music scene. It has a metaphorical and emotional quality to it.

"Denture in His Beer" - This title seems to have a humorous and quirky tone. It could potentially represent the clash between traditional country music and newer, unconventional styles.

"The Dodo Isn't Dead" - This title has a sense of defiance and challenges the notion that certain styles or artists are outdated. It suggests that there's still a place for innovation and new voices.

"Not on My Watch!" - This title conveys a sense of determination and resistance against the perceived resentment. It could symbolize the desire to break free from the constraints and prove oneself.

"One String Guitar" - This title could symbolize the simplicity and authenticity of certain musical styles that may be dismissed or overlooked by traditionalists. It represents making the most out of limited resources.

"One Wheel Truck" - This title has a playful and unconventional vibe. It might symbolize embracing uniqueness and forging a path that's different from the norm.

"Tree-Legged Horse" - This title is intriguing and imaginative. It could represent the idea of an unconventional artist or style that might not fit the traditional mold but still has its own charm and appeal.

"Country Cuckoos" - This title suggests a lighthearted and slightly irreverent take on the Nashville music scene. It could highlight the diverse range of artists and styles that challenge the status quo.

"Chain Around My Boots" - This title evokes a sense of being weighed down or held back by tradition or expectations. It symbolizes the struggle to break free and carve one's own path.

"Trashville" - This title has a rebellious and provocative quality. It might represent the disdain for the perceived closed-mindedness of the Nashville music industry.

"Muck on My Truck" - This title seems to have a gritty and defiant tone. It could symbolize the resistance to conforming to traditional norms and embracing a more raw and unconventional musical expression.

Remember, the choice of title ultimately depends on the overall theme and tone you want to convey in your song. Select the one that resonates with you the most and fits the message you want to communicate.
Also note how it has corrected the OP's spelling of the titles.
