Random question, is there any advantage/disadvantage in having uploaded music made public/downloadable? Is there anybody out there watching....

, like a library owner or two?

In general, I prefer my music not be downloadable on any site unless I have a specific reason to do otherwise. There's a lot of piracy out there. Public but not downloadable has more advantages since you may want to send a link to your page to someone to check out your music. That includes possible collabs with other Taxi members. But read on...
As far as sharing your music with libraries, supervisors, etc., I highly recommend
www.disco.ac which is becoming the industry standard. It's totally private and you send links to tracks or customized playlists as needed.
Best,

Casey

Thanks Casey, yes I've been using Disco for a while now and sending links from there to Libraries, great platform. Just wondered if there maybe liraries lurking in here

Libraries would not be lurking here
for the purpose of finding music. However, we do know that library owners sometimes read the forum, so appearing to be a difficult person could possibly make a library decide not to sign someone. (A general statement, not at all aimed at you!).

I can think of at least four library owners off the top of my head who regularly peruse the forums. There's probably many more. So yes, like Casey said, the way people come across to the public here on this text-based platform has big ramifications on down the line, for better or worse.
Now, to answer your major question.... are library owners specifically here looking for music? Not sure about that one. But they are definitely here amongst us!
