allow me to introduce myself justine jones, saxophonist and composer from Melbourne Australia..
.you may have seen me at the 2009 rally(im in a photo by the taxi on the taxi website(blue dress and lots o leg)and I was the last one to showcase on Saturday night at the rally...haha ha had a fantastic time meeting members, great people who are into what im into, and learning much..wish i had a home studio so i could record my music as fast as I write it ,but find my self have to save for sessions...such is? however I can always continue to write with pen, paper, and piano(how old school)
I am also a performer and at the moment in Melbourne things have been slow, due to New liquor licencing laws, which has resulted in a serious down tun in Live gigs...Ne way, we are not taking it lying down, and The musicians and fans of live music have organised a protest on February 23rd 2010 at 4pm, entitled
Save Live Australia's Music (S.L.A.M.) Rally!!
look it up on facebook and supprt the cause
and to all you people with Jazz releases ,connect with me and send me your music for some Australian airplay,
I produce and present a Weekly 2 hour Jazz radio show in Melbourne called "Night Owl Jazz" on 103.5 FM from 12am - 2am monday nights/Tuesday morning Aust eastern standard time ...7am mondays L.A. time.... you can also web stream it at http://www.3mbs.org.au

I do seem to remember you from the road rally.nice chops by the way.I'm also glad the musicians their are making a stand.I wish the musicians here could do the same but their are too many bad bands that will play for free. If it makes you feel any better ,the grass isn't greener over here as they say. Between the economy being so... bad and the police cracking down on drinking and driving and throw in the fact that many venues actually make you buy the tickets to sell to your following ,well lets just say that its more likely to cost you money to play. Its certainly not like it was in the old days when you could make a living at this.anyways,good luck and welcome....
