Hi, fellow music lovers, I'm new to Taxi and to this forum. I'm Kirk, I live in a beautiful place called Tamborine Mountain in Australia, although I'm Canadian originally. I've been playing guitar for fifty years now.

I spent a good portion of my life as a session player in Sydney -- jingles, album tracks, movie soundtracks -- and I also played live in too many lineups to name. These days I run a guitar teaching site and I also sell some teaching material (book, DVD) online.

I'm not sure what to expect here ... one of the things I've always been pretty good at is putting music to pictures, so I guess some TV/movie music would be great. Slide guitar is my specialty.

Let me know if it's OK to post some links to my YouTube movies (5.3 million views so far) so you can hear what I'm all about.

Great name, eh? Comes from an aboriginal word meaning "small hand-held drum with jangling discs" ...

The weirdest thing is that I live on Capo Lane. (For non-guitarists, a capo is one of those clamps you put on the neck of a guitar to change key). The name came from a resort that was built here in the 1920s called 'Capo di Monte' (top of the mountain), so nothing to do with guitars, but I don't mind.

By the way, Tamborine Mountain is about a half hour drive inland from Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast.
