Introducing myself - Darren from a Freezin' UK

Hi folks.
I just thought I'd take a moment to introduce myself.
I'm Darren from Kent in the UK and a new forum and Taxi member.
I write under the name The Karmistry Project as I wouldn't really class myself a song writer as such.
Most of my productions are in the ambient, electronic and New Age genres, but I like to experiment with different styles, so you'll occasionally hear some smoothe jazz, rock/pop etc.
I've only started writing music again this last 2 years or so after a 16 year break. In that time I was a professional DJ, but got so fed up with the whole business of carting equipment around at stupid hours of the night.
I am totally blind so the idea that I can record all my production ideas using computers has been somewhat of a revelation to me. Previously it was a case of learning the lay out of hardware and commiting it to memory, not the easiest of tasks.
My main goals are to write music for TV/multi-media licencing etc. I'll likely be asking a lot of questions here as I'm as green as the proverbial man from Mars.
I can see that it's a thriving and friendly community here and I hope to be able to pay it forward as and when I can.
Thanks for reading.
Cheers
