I think it'd be interesting to see what kind of work everyone does. I'm a mortgage broker in my day job.I picked my job because 1. it was available 2. it accomodates some health issues I have to take care of 3. i can earn a great living and 4. IT USES ALL THE SAME SKILLS AS WRITING AND SELLING MUSIC.THerefore, the work is very much like composing for specific listings; just the item I"m producing is not music. So what do you do for your "day job", and why do you do it?

I am self-employed, with my husband. We sell apparel online through a major website as well as our own site. We've been doing this since 1992. We started out street vending - to retail - to online sales. We stopped for a year or two when my husband got a job web programming. He taught himself to program .asp, database connectivity etc... for personal use and ended up getting a full time job programming. He was lead programmer on a huge 20 mil project. Once the project ended , he was eventually laid off and we went back to apparel, but online this time. Tricia

I'm a hospice counselor and (apparently) a musician. I guess. Ooh, I made it into grad school (yay!) so I'll be a student again (uh, not so yay!!).Oh, almost forgot. In my spare time, I crush on Dave Kershaw.

Joy of joy, music is all I do; but it entails 'bout nine separate jobs/careers-I do some acting/voice acting on the side, but don't dance much anymore,

I'm a Product Marketing Manager for a huge company. The good thing about it I get to use a lot of creativity. The downside is they suck all the creativity (and life) out of me, not leaving much for songwriting these days...but there is food on the table!
