Hi,
Just wondering if there is a right way to present lyrics in print.
Do you type everything aligned left or center.
I'm in the process of reviewing and rewriting some of my older song and I find that most of them are aligned center.
Whenever I upload song to Taxi for submission it always end up aligned left.
Is left the correct or perfered way to do this?
Thanks

I've found that if you align the words center, there is room for the music on either side of the lyrics. If you have all the lyrics aligned to the left, the only place left for the mussic is on the right of the lyrics. Hope this helps.
p.s. anyone taking this post seriously needs serious help. Ott

The instructions of the reviewers I've met with has been align the verse lyrics on the left, indent the chorus
enter "CHORUS" for second chorus, not the full lines unless the words are different.
Indent the bridge
Use fairly large print
Always put Title and writer's name
The word copyright is not required, it is a sign of inexperience to some reviewers (yea, the up tight ones)
That's only a dozen or so meetings though, so it may not be an industry consensus.

Thank you Judy
Ott, I think what you mean is that I should print lyrics with (((STEREO))) in mind.

Yeah I keep my lyrics center on Microsoft but when typing them out on my hosting page I just keep them to the left and Mark them with captials on top:
INTRO
VERSE 1
lalalalalalalalala
lalalalalalalalala
lalalalalalalalala
CHORUS
lalalalalalalalala
lalalalalalalalaa
etc etc .
Note: ''La la'' is not a real song but might be someday...ramones style yeahhh lol

Pan the lyrics hard left.

I don't think there's a wrong way to do it; for biz purposes, I align left, but often denote sections such as verse, chorus, bridge, etc in center alignment. On a website, I'll more likely align everything center, or adjust to fit around a background image, make it look nice.

It might look better aligned center but it's definitely much easier to read aligned left. And your goals is probably for someone to read your lyrics

So I'd go with the left alignment.

Thank you all for your comments.
I'm a lefty, we drive on the left side here and I do agree it is easier to read on the left side.

Billy: Always enjoy it when someone catches my sense of humor. For the record, for song lyrics, I always align to the left. In my poetry, I usually align to the center -- check it out,
