I was curious if the folks I see on the live cam are the actual A & R people listed on the Taxi website? What I mean is, are those A & R heavyweights the actual one's who screen our songs?Dale

Who knows for sure they don't sign there names here. When I have my songs critiqued anywhere else they let me know who they are plus I have always been able to look at the credentials of the person that just gave me a supposedly expert evaluation. That carries a hell of lot more weight to me. Especially after I have sunk hundreds of dollars in each song. mB

I've met some Taxi screeners at the Rally's I've been to. If you look at the list of mentors for the Rally, a good number of them are probably Taxi screeners. Folks like John Braheny and Pete & Pat Luboff and many many many more.I just went to Taxi's site and searched for "screeners" and came up with this -http://www.taxi.com/aandr.htmlHTHHummin'bird

I was at the mentor luncheon last year, even sat with Vikki on one of the days, and everyone we met who was a screener has legitimate music industry background and ties, many with years of experience in the industry (yes, some heavy hitters in my opinion). So I guess if you have time to sit around and look up a bunch of pictures on google you might, just might recognize some of them on the A&R cam

but in fairness we take the criticism from them and we don't hide away..we take it as it comes and get on with it.. maybe they should too... more transparency would be nice when paying top dollar...

It's the same with NSAI evaluators and SongU coaches - they all have numbers, not names. SongU gives you some background on their coaches but those bios could fit a lot of people in town. The evaluators and coaches all have industry credentials and aren't just dragged in off the street to listen to songs, but for their own privacy their names aren't listed.

With all due respect to all of my Taxi friends what you are saying I have no doubt. My only point is even though you may know that the pool of screeners have strong credentials. That's all well and fine, but my point is I don't know who personally critiques my individual songs that I paid to have critiqued. Did I say something that isn't true? I'm not attacking anyone just stating a very very simple fact. That's my only point. mild Bill

Hey Mild BillI know exactly what you are saying but as others have pointed out, screeners have gotten harassed and even death threats when their identities were known. So I don't know any way around that problem. (I think hiring bodyguards would be too expensive although the gov't could borrow a little more money and provide secret service protection, LOL! )You do meet quite a few of them at the rally as others noted. Many taxi members use outside critique services in additon to taxi. You pay more but get a more personal dialogue with your reviewer. I recognize that it all gets expensive. Casey
