...you have to upload your picture to the 'net somewhere (that is what would be considered a 'host'). Once uploaded, you get the address by starting with the host domain name (ex: http://www.myhost.com) then add your picture name to the end (ex: http://www.myhost.com/mypicture.jpg)...I know this is clear as mud ...if you'll send me your avatar picture, I will host it and give you the 'http' address to put in your profile......send pic to chuckt at scrtc.com (replace the word 'at' with '@' )...Chuck

If you talking about an avatar, go to your account settings on this board. Click on "profile" above, underneath the taxi, then "modify profile" and about 1/2 way down the page you will see the avatar section. Upload your picture there. If you are talking about posting images in a thread, go to the "add tags" section above, click the 4th box from the left, 2nd row down. Paste the url in between the image tags that appear. I just figured out the image post process today.

If you'd like to know how something is done, the quote button is your friend. It let's you see the code others are using to post stuff.

Hey Wig,You know, I had to use photobucket to get a url of a photo...sort of like what I have to do to load pictures on myspace. If you go to photobucket.com, you can set up an account, upload a photo, and a url will be created for you.It looks like others who have posted here have better and perhaps more efficient ideas but this is what worked for me.

Wig,Plus, make sure your photo is the same size wide as it is high, or else it will be "stretched" into a square, which often will distort your picture.

Hey Wig,Use my picture as an example of how not to do it, hehehe!I put a picture up on myspace and then copied the URL into the space provided in my profile. It wasn't easy though, took me some doing, and it still doesn't look as though I've quite got the hang of it!Good luck,Linzi

Just below your avatar picture there will be avatar width and height numbers you can change. You can't go higher than 100 on either, but you can make your avatar look skinnier or fatter by changing those number a little or a lot. Experiment

Steve,That's a good tip.Linzi, I right-clicked on your picture and did a "save image as" a file on my computer. Then opened the file in a photo editor. Your photo actual dimensions are 640 high x 480 wide. The forum is squeezing it into 100x100. I can easily crop it square in about 2 seconds if you want it.Glenn
