Hello fellow passengers. This is my 2nd post and I understand the premise of TAXI but I wanted to know, how does TAXI actually work? I make instrumental guitar music, hip hop, and electronic instrumental. What is the step by step process of taking my finished copyrighted material and:1 getting someone important to hear it and2 getting money. I have really great material and everyone I know, in real life, tells me I'm highly talented.Thank you for being patient and giving a helping hand,CiscoKid

Quote:I have really great material and everyone I know, in real life, tells me I'm highly talented. As opposed to all those fantasy people in your head who keep telling you that your material stinks and that you need to buy some hand grenades to teach those suits a lesson....???Sorry, couldn't resist. On a serious note.Taxi is a service for both musicians and industry people looking for music/musicians.The basic idea is that you subscribe to the service on both ends so as to create an inclusive/exclusive service. As a musician, when you see an advert you submit your music (and pay your $5) and the nice people at Taxi will listen to it and decide if it fits the requirements that the listing asked for. Ie: not every wacko with an internet connection and a handful of crappy songs can submit randomly to advertisements for music and get a forward. On the other side of the scale, the industry bods get a quality filtering system for music submitted to them.If you don't get your music forwarded for a listing then the nice people at Taxi usually give you a critique with a reson why you didn't get forwarded and some advice on how to improve.Once you get forwarded, it is no guarantee of a deal but it does mean you have your music put on the desk of the right people to be getting you a deal, which can only be good news. If your music is as good as the 'real world' people say it is, then you should get a deal. It's not a peer group system such as Garageband or Broadjam, so you eliminate the risk of teenagers sitting at the computer all night making false hits to their music so as to get to number 1.Taxi's main emphasis is on quality music getting to the industry bod at the other end. Some people hate this system, some love it. I personally find it very useful and it has also brought me down to earth quite a few times. That my friend is pretty much it.Any questions class????
