Hi All,I'm new here and ready to join Taxi but need to copyright three (maybe more songs) first.I take it the SR form is the primary to use vs. the PA? Have any of you done both?And I understand (by searching on here) that you can copyright multiple songs under one collective name. I have read or heard about a type of scenario like this: Let's say my song #3 becomes somewhat well known via the internet and someone pirates it (says it's theirs and sells it) because they do a copyright search and that song title doesn't show up because it was listed at the bottom of a collective work and the collective work title does not reflect the song #3 title. Would I just have to show proof that it was on the collective copyright to be protected (in the rare case it may happen?).What's the best way to protect the individual song?Thanks

That's easy, copyright everything individually if you are worried, it'll cost you I think $30 a pop.

If you are registering the Sound Recording+words & music (for example, a broadcast quality song you intend to publish on a CD or submit for film/tv), then you use form SR.The point of registration is to have proof of your copyright ownership. Whether someone can find it registered under its name or not, their use of it without permission is infringement on your rights.It costs $45 for one song, or $45 for a collection. They are beta-testing on-line registration, when it's up, it will be $35 for the first song and $1 for each additional song.HTHHummin'bird

Hi,Just to add to Vikki's post, I've taken part in their beta-testing (open to public as long as you can test what they want you to!) so I've been using their online copyright registration system.
