Pleased with 8 years at TAXI

I just want to put this out there. I really am happy with TAXI and the help the staff, screeners and Road Rally have offered. I have been a member since 1998 (maybe nine years now) and have had one forward years ago and never made a dime. But I have learned so much and I know from audience reaction and folks like John Braheny that my music is getting closer to the mark. My goal is to write the songs the whole world sings, so to speak, and for many years I wrote the songs I sang. Me and a very limited audience. I loved the songs but they lacked a broad appeal. As the result of attending 6 or 7 Road Rallys, sitting in workshops with folks like John, Jai, Jason and Steve Seskin (and many others), doing consults with John and others, studying with Harriet Schock and gradually opening my mind things have improved. So I've spent maybe $1500 on TAXI memberships, probably another two or three thousand on hotels and travel for the Road Rallys, and years trying to figure out the nature of POPULAR music, and I am still pleased. I just started to submit songs again recently and my first critique suggested I rewrite the entire song and read some songwriting books. I liked the song just like it was (totally wrong for the listing I am sure) but I did break out John Braheny's book and start reading. And then I submitted to a couple more listings.I am not the best fit for TAXI (providing songs that fill a specific niche) but TAXI has been a great fit for me. My gratitude to Michael and his crew.Mark LeeTempe, Arizona
