Submission Question

Hi - I've been submitting tunes to the Jazz and Instrumentals listings and getting a few forwards. I just realized that I had accidentally submitted the same song to several listings and been forwarded on both of them. Is this considered a bad/dumb thing to do? Thanks for your input.

no, absolutely not.it's even recommended to submit your songs to all suitable listings as long as you didn't sign away the publising rights exclussively.I've submitted the same songs to several listings and here and there *zap* got deals and placements. you never know which listing will bring you the next offer, so: pitch pitch pitch ..... and write write write cheers, martin

Thanks for your input.Martin's already answered but just to fortify his answer and maybe set the tone. You're pitching your music to as many people as possible and until someone grabs up a track, you keep pitching away."Gently keep pushing yourself forward"- Traveling EdThink a little like a publisher who's on the phone 12 hours a day pitching music to clients and not so much like a shy musician who hopes they're not bothering anybody by even mentioning that they write music. We have to wear lots of hats... songwriter/composer, studio engineer, and now music rep and publisher.
