(I have tried to do this the best I could but I am not a very good writer when it comes to this sort of writing so bear with me, and have fun reading hopefully.)Hi allI am new to these forums although I have been viewing them for the best part of 2-3 years, I still see names in here from as far back as when I first viewed these forums, I:E Hummingbird the avatar and sig I remember from about 2 years ago.I have been making lyrics for over 10 years and about 3 years ago I decided to have them made into songs by a demo company in the USA, (The name I won't mention) although they did what they said they would I don't re-commend it myself.I was a member of NASI up to about a year ago, But not anymore. The reason for this is ever since I started going about song writing in a big way my life seems to have gone back-wards,((This has nothing to do with song-writing) it's just life in general). I had a good paying job when I started but now I am earning half what I got 3 years ago. So to the reason why I post this thread is Because my TAXI cab is coming and I am just waiting for my real life to give me a break so I can pay for the fair.I just wished I never wasted money on Demo's when I did and joined TAXI first. We all make mistakes in life and I believe I have made more than my share's worth now since I left school about 27 years ago, maybe I will learn one day. On to a good note, About six months ago my dear father in his wisdom see my struggle to try and achieve what seems to be near impossible for me at the moment, (due to real life pressure), bought me a keyboard which I had been after for along time. This has now added a whole new leash of life to me I was at a point, we're I wanted to scrap something I enjoyed doing, because life wouldn't let me carry on anymore, (it's funny how things have a habit of turning around again from bad to good). I have made a fair few samples of music now and my next goal is to join TAXI and I will get there, (it's written in a book some were saying join TAXI soon as you can) I know it is, I've not seen the book myself but trust me it's out there, Some were. I only just realised yesterday I could join the forum without being a member which is a bonus. Maybe that’s cos I spent more time reading everyone else's post which helps with the learning curve in my eye's, and it has. There is allot of good info in here you just need to find it.OK I won't go on and bore you all anymore, keep up the good work everyone.Steve

Steve:Welcome to the forum...You already know that you'll find a wealth of support and assistance from this group. And, for whatever it's worth, we've all been there. I've had some "life" situations get in the way of my writing this past year. Last night, I went to the funeral of a 37 year old mother with two young children. She was killed by a drunk driver. It's this kind of event that really helps me to put my situation in a more proper perspective.Anyway, I wish you well. Enjoy the dialog and don't look back on what might have been. Today is a new day to count your blessings, and to move ahead with your songwriting...Blessings,

This is a great place to get answers to your questions & feedback on your work. If it helps at all, I was exactly where you are now 3.5 years ago. If I can do it, you can do it. Listen to what you are told, try to incorporate the advice, distance yourself emotionally from your music & be prepared to have fun/be creative while steadily learning the skills & knowledge you need to be successful.warmlyHummin'bird

Thanx VickiThat was my plan to do just as you said above.Although I am new to the keyboard and still in my primitive stages at the moment, I think I am getting there slowly.I can't sing? Hmm well I can but sound like some one who is in a blocked tunnel rapidly running out of oxygen, if get my meaning. So my strongest point may still lay in my lyrics, Not saying there the best in the world, But I like to think there not the worst either.best to allSteve
