Long lines at the post office, terrible music in every public place. People pretending that they are going into debt for the holidays, dead trees on the sidewalks, and a jump in the crime rate.... what's not to like, JD?Maybe we can start a new tradition. If JD sticks his head out and hears a Christmas carol we get an extra six weeks of dead trees.

I used to hate Christmas for a while...(loved it as a kid). I think I hated it because it consisted of too much shopping, too many parties, too much decorating, too much EXCESS. I told all my friends and family that I was paring down Christmas from then on. I put up a small tree now, don't spend tons of money that I don't have, and I attend the parties I really want to attend, not the ones I feel obligated to. As a result, I'm starting to like that nasty 'ole holiday again. It means more to me now....as that trite saying goes, 'less is definitely more' at least, for me.

Well, for me it's never been about shopping or presents, or anything else the "grinch" would think means Christmas. To me, it's always been about a baby in a manger, Hope and Love.
