TAXI Forums (Dead or Alive?)

Greetings:Is it just me, or is the TAXI forum a little disconnected...?Not that I have all that much time to be online searching through the forums day and night, but it seems like this forum is not as active as most I've been on. I wonder how many TAXI members either don't know the forum exists, or they just haven't logged on? Don't get me wrong, I enjoy visiting, I just wish more people were here on a regular basis!I think this forum is a great medium to share ideas and exchange experiences. Unfortunately, it's discouraging to see only a relatively small amount of posts added each day. Additionally, I notice the "newbies" post in some areas, while the more experienced forum users hang out in other areas. Maybe I've got that wrong, but that's what I've noticed.Maybe it's time for TAXI to create a "forum buzz" with it's meembership, and figure out how to get more people tuned in. I think this could prove to be a more valuable resource than it is at the present time. It would be great to be online with 100 other musicians, writers, etc., all sharing ideas and keeping each other motivated and encouraged!Anyone else have any thoughts on this?Blessings,

Hey Craig... seems to me there's a fair amount of activity here. More than there was a couple of months ago when the joke thread was all that was happening. I spend several hours a week on songwriting boards, and when you add that up.... I suppose I could have come up with another lyric or song, or reworked something in that time. I also don't have a full-time job, spouse, kids, mortgage and all that other cool stuff. I enjoy writing too. If you want to see more activity folks, just start an interesting thread and watch the fingers fly Try also giving feedback on songs or lyrics, participation encourages more participation, I find I was surprised at the Rally to meet folks who didn't know about the forum - especially the new members I meet. Maybe Taxi could include forum info in it's members manual if it doesn't already (I can't remember).Hummin'bird

Yes, it has slowed down a bit. Mega-threads like "Sgt. Pepper" and "Music Jeopardy" seem to have bit the dust.Personally, I had a lot of studio downtime the past few months due to computer problems. My internet computer worked, though, so I spent more time hanging out than usual. Now I'm up and running, but promise to check in regularly!Ern

I get my share of forum time, trust me. I guess my point was the majority of the activity on the forum is primarily coming from a small group of literally 100's of members. That's why I'm encouraging TAXI to promote the forum a bit more to it's membership, new and old alike. We have such a great wealth of talent and experience in this organization. It would be nice to get EVERYONE active, sharing their expertise. I also think it would be more welcoming for newbies if some of the veteran forum users took more initiative to make them feel at home. Vicki, you and I both know that some people can be quite rude to the newbies!(Closed circuit to nomiyah...Of course i missed you!)Blessings,

I also appreciate that you respond to old and new alike. You guys are all great about that! I wish there were more of you!Blessings,

...well I think here's something going on, at least this is my personal impression.on the other side, yes I also think not all taxi-member do know of this board, it's a little bit hidden - maybe Michael should talk about the forum in a newsletter, I think that would bring some more guests;)but it's not that I would miss acitivity here;)

Quote: Vicki, you and I both know that some people can be quite rude to the newbies! No-ones been rude to me yet... but then again I ain't posted any tunes....Just on that.. is Broadjam the best way to go... the reason I ask is some songs seem to attract more reviews than others posted inthe peer to peer area... Is this due to them being posted by veterans.. or the medium they are played thru.. I see Myspace gets VERY little time... Or is it genre specialisms? for example.. I would not feel comfortable reviewing the stuff I've heard posted by Dave W or other composers of that genre.. other than to say it sounds great! (not particularly constructive)Anyway... heres a chance for some of you to be rude to me for posting a post that is perhaps irrelevant to the orginal thread!! LOLTil I get the guts to post a song....Dan

Quote: I also think it would be more welcoming for newbies if some of the veteran forum users took more initiative to make them feel at home. Aug. Heat, some of us old timers (on this forum) have given our opinions, ideas and stories so many times that we feel it is repetitive to chime in with the same old stuff. We're not trying to be rude but wanting to let some fresh words of wisdom hit the net. I read the new posts most every day and all I can put in is what I've said before. As someone said "Start a new and interesting *fun* thread" and all the old maniacs will take it overWhen Nomi was new here she started a thread about her love life and we nearly ran her off with all of our suggestions (get her to show you a pic of her beautiful legs - WOW)If I can think of anything new to offer I'll be glad to expose how lame I can be to all the new folks here.
