Anyone do business/deal with/have sex with an outfit called indierhythm? They have approached me to sell my CD on their website. I've been makin' em one at a time so far (goin like hotcakes!LOL)--don't wanna pay to make up a bunch to sit until I find out more. Any feedback? Good, bad, or ugly?

Hey Og,Haven't had any dealings w/ Indierhythem, but if your worried about dusty cds, I'm pretty sure the Guitar Center does low count cd production.

Thanks. I found out that they just started in march 06, want $20 to list a CD, and $45 (intro price) to be a "featured artist" for six months. After that, it's $50 a month--sounds like pretty steep rent to me! What thinks y'all?

Thanks a million, Vikki! I assumed (!) that they meant my soundclick page--I do have a CD--but something smelled when I saw the prices. Somebody famous once said something like "We must all hang together, or we most assuredly will hang separately". Again, thanks for the info! Ed

yeh but on CD Baby you can stay at the bottom of the pile and never be seen, lots of people I know have been on CD Baby with really good albums that have sold like hotcakes at gigs and such, but never seen the light of day on CD BabyKatie

On the other hand, Katie, people who are selling nothing elsewhere are selling CDs at CD Baby. And the digital distribution is free. I have a very niche CD (Piedmont Blues) that is not exactly selling hotcakes out there and I've already made enough from iTunes sales to pay for CD Baby costs. And CD Baby had already gotten me sales in Europe and Japan that I couldn't have gotten any other way. I don't know what you mean by seeing the light of day, but I don't know any artists who haven't had sales when they used the URL to their album. I don't mean to imply that it is a panacea for anything, but if you can't make $35 on sales from CD Baby you are doing something wrong. And anything that does better than paying for itself is okay in my book.

hey TET,I wasnt trying to **** u off, just jumping in and putting my feet where my mouth should go I suppose, sorry !!! ooh-er made a good start here aint I !!!maybe the people that I'm talking about didnt market themselves properly I dont know ?it was just some info passed to me when I asked advice about CD Baby, in fact mine isnt even ready yet, thats why I've joined lots of internet sites just to get feedback, info and advice, because I'm determined not to have a cd pressed till it is ready and saleable, cant afford to waste the money so I want to do it right first time.Although I must admit, when checking out CD Baby myself, I couldnt help thinking wow how will anyone find me on here !!Sorry again if I sounded arsey, didnt mean it at all, I'm here to learn, listen, and take part hopefully !thanks for your answer anyway !!bestKatie

I love the way a simple question grows into an education here!
