I have many favourite story songs. The one I'm listening to now is "In The Ghetto" by Elvis Presley. This was a bit of a departure for the king. If I recall correctly, alot of his music up unitl this point was pretty "safe" lyrically but this tackled the struggles of the black community in the inner cities circa 1969. This song had all the makings of a hit, good lyrics, phrasing, rhyming and chrod progression. One of my favourites.
