Hi all...I just joined. Decided to try and get "professional" about things.

A few facts:
- I am a songwriter - rock/ pop stuff
- have hired session singers to nail down vocals
- Have been writing 20+ years...mostly very self indulgent stuff...now I am trying to use that but set up song structures that are more mainstream

A few basic quesitons:
1) What type of opportunities are the most fruitful? where are members seeing the most success
2) Do you often use the song critique option? Do you get forwards off that?

Thanks!!

Hi Jeff & welcome,

In answer to your questions:

1, On the most basic level, I would say that there are way more opportunities for songs as opposed to instrumentals. As far as genres go, wellll....that's a moving target.

2. Only once & only if your song improves to the point of getting placed. Generally speaking, it's better to get a consensus of opinion from multiple sources. You can do that through your submissions & here on P2P.

You might want to try reposting this on General Hangout. This page deals mostly with very specific business questions and doesn't get visited as often.

Good Luck,
Mike

Listings are so varied here hard to nail down what is looked for consistently. FInd a listing that you like and write to it would be my suggestion then any one opportunity is as good as another. And definitely use Peer to Peer as well as the critiques, I've found them to be a lot of help. Welcome!
