PRO registration question

Am I correct to assume that any PRO payments will always have to be actually registered in our PRO account that we can see? I've had a cue detected 9 times in Tunesat which has been used on NBC Sports Versus during Jan-Jul 2015 but have never seen anything in my PRO account on this. Was told that it's highly unlikely that NBC would ever license a track from a royalty-free site, where this track has also been available. Thoughts??

For you to actually collect the money, the cue needs to be registered.

I've heard some people say that registration can be generated by a cue sheet from the network. And others have said this is not the case. Some people will see something show up in their PRO statement as a placement with no registration, and no money until it is registered.

It is your publisher's responsibility to register the song. If you don't get paid then they won't get paid... Unless the due was mistakenly registered to the wrong composer. I would suggest a polite email to your publisher letting them know you are hearing placements that haven't been registered yet... Or you could wait... Perhaps the publisher doesn't register until the cue is placed. Either way, you have time. Royalties don't get distributed for 6-9 months after the placement.

Yeah... I would just have a little patience.

Russell

Edit... Whoops I see your placements were January? It's probably time for a polite email asking the status of registrations.

But what if you have no idea who the publisher is? All I know is what Tunesat shows me. Is there a way to contact Joe Blow at NBC and find out where they got the track from? :)

I'd say at least a dozen and it's been on a few RF sites for a couple of years.

Wow... That could be an interesting batch of emails.

I don't know what I would do in this instance. Hopefully more folks have some input on the matter.

Yeah, really! I guess I could start contacting the libraries who have the track. I know when it's been licensed on several RF sites but there's usually no way of knowing who licensed it.
