Which library is running the listing?

Let's say, you've had a really bad experience with a library. You signed some music with them exclusively and you're not happy with the way the do things or communicate. You obviously don't want to send them more music but you're at the mercy of the listings and the mystery of who's it is.

Other than calling Taxi and inquiring who the library is, each and every time you want to submit (obviously you'll have to say, "is this so and so's listing?" and proceed accordingly), is there another way? An easier way?

Thanks,

Hm. It would appear there's not much you can do about such a situation, beyond letting Taxi know about it. Maybe they'll allow you to opt out of further submissions to that listing party, but that might be administratively cost-prohibitive. If the library's actions are abusive/unethical, consider reporting them to the PMA, rather than trashing them anonymously on Music Library Report.

Thanks Mojo.

Good idea. I've spoken to ML about this, and others have had a similar experience. According to him, it's just the nature of the biz. Yes it is a pain, but even more frustrating to learn forwards are going to this library. Oh well ..

We'll figure it out ... 8-)

Thanks again,
Peter

Or even the opposite scenario. I wouldn't want to be submitting to listings from a library which I'm already a member of.

But again, I don't think there's anything we can do about that. Except maybe to be able to recognize some of the traits of your library in the listing.
