Ok, I am getting serious about the business of music (business, trademarks, logos, etc is something i have a lot of experience in). I sent off paperwork to incorporate my music business -as an LLC-it will help legitimasize (made up word..lol) that this is a real business in the eyes of the IRS and will allow me to continue to deduct expenses and annual losses with greater comfort. Being who I am, coming from consumer products, I just GOTTA have a logo.. lol... so I hired a good friend of mine to come up with a couple of ideas. One of them just rang out like a huge power chord... as in THIS IS THE ONE!!!!! I am already envisioning what it will look like on t shirts and hats etc.
Pls give my your opinion.
this business includes my studio (which I am willing to do for hire) and my music production business, which I hope to one day be making money from placements, etc etc etc.
Regardless, I love the logo and it makes me happy, so $200 well spent, I think!! Tim

Are you Russian?
That's the very clear message I get. Hopefully that is what's intended!

Nice logo but I don't understand it. How are bears connected to music? Not that it matters I guess as long as you like it.

Cool logo. I used to be a freelance graphic artist, so here's my $0.02.
When you put it on a shirt or hat, will it be just the bear with the guitar, or will you also include the text? I think both elements together work fine for large items like a t-shirt or print products like letterhead and business cards. If you shrink the whole thing down (bear and text) you will lose the line behind the bear. I think the bear rocks (pun intended) and would be a solid logo/icon on its own.
Also consider social media. The bear will make an excellent avatar, twitter logo, Facebook icon, and most important... mp3 icon for all of your audio files.
You could also break this into two logos if needed, one being the bear, the other being the text block. The text block is nice and large and should also translate well to social media square icons.
I too would like to know the Rush’n word play. Walter is English, or perhaps Germanic. Are you a fan of Missouri State,California, or Montana football? You have Bear highlighted in brown, so there’s a story there.

Russian is to bear as American is to eagle. I can't prove it, but my gut tells me that "eagle" might be the most popular word, as far as numbers go, for music publishers, recording studios, and music business names in general??

I agree. Remove your picture and make the new logo your new avatar here on Taxi and all of the sites you have music on.

Hi everyone...
Thanks for your comments.
yes, I think of it in two logos, possibly... just the bear alone is awesome...
My ancestors came over to the US from Russia. They weren't of Russian ethnicity, but of Germanic descent (known as Hutterites). Walter in that context is the oldest family name of this "Hutterite tribe" if you will. There are still many Hutterite folks living in Eastern South Dakota, North Dakota, and up into Canada. Many of them live an agrarian communal traditional lifestyle (Communistic in the social sense of the word, not political as it has come to mean.) Nobody is supposed to have any personal property. They are somewhat like the Amish (strange dress, all married men have beards, strange accents), but they embrace the absolutely latest farming and agricultural technology, are very successful as business entities, and because of that have a lot of resentment from other farmers because of their success (they are always in the mix for farm land that comes up for sale, and can pay the big bucks that it brings in today's market, and that breeds a lot of resentment.) Plus they talk and dress funny... Gender roles and relations are, well, extremely traditional. However, of couples that leave (cuz the grass is always greener), often the wife begs to go back because she misses all the camaraderie of the women working together in the kitchen, etc, and thats all she knows. Anyway, for many years they were disparagingly referred to as Russians because their homeland had been Russia, even tho not of Russian descent. They were the first in these parts to popularize eating in-shell sunflower seeds, and you'lll even hear older people still refer to inshell sunflower seeds as
"Russian Peanuts"....
In high school I was a pretty good wrestler, wrestling in state tournaments, etc. One of the other older wrestlers gave me the nickname of The Little Russian Bear... little cuz he was heavyweight and I wrestled in the middle wt ranges, and I'm considerably below avg ht, Russian because of my ancestry, and bear, well, maybe because of my build. When I thought up a name, I remembered that, and decided to do it with twist.. Im also known as a pretty impatient guy, alwaus in a hurry, so that's where the Rush came from.
Thanks for all your comments.

The bear in brown was the artists take, not mine. No significance that I know...I can ask what he was thinking
