Hi.

I've got my first six tracks forwarded. That started around July through September.

I was just wondering if the supervisors or Taxi let you know if the supervisor doesn't accept your music?
Seems like an awful long time. But how do you know you're out of the running?

Nope..just keep writing and submitting...the Library / Supe etc. will be in touch if they want to accept your music.

Not hearing back at all is extremely common simply because we work in a highly competitive business and Taxi clients (sups, library execs, etc.) get a lot of music from a lot of sources. So you write, submit, forget, repeat.... and repeat... and repeat....

That's understandable.

The only problem is how do you decide what to do with the track next? If you're waiting for that "great opportunity" to get back to you, you might not want to sign it up with someone else. So I guess it's just a gamble.

You can't really think of it like that. Best to just send it to all relevant opportunities and it's first come first serve.

The worst that can happen is that someone gets back to you after signing a different deal. If they're all non-exclusive, great—you've got two deals on the table. If one or both are exclusive, you can just offer to write them another piece in a similar vein. If they really love your work, they'll probably take you up on it if you can do a quick turnaround
