Music Library requesting to hear more

Hi guys !

So last week I signed my first deal with a music library for one song I submitted through Taxi (Dark, Moody pop song). After I sent them the track I also mentioned I had much more in my catalog and they replied that I should send them anything I would like them to hear.

I'm pretty excited about it but I don't want to mess it up. I'd like some advices on what I should send, what NOT to send, how I should present it to them...etc.

What I'm doing right now is taking 40 of my best songs, in various different styles and putting them in folders like "EDM Songs", "Drones / Tension Cues", "Dark / Moody Songs", etc.

I'm guessing some of you have done this before ? How can I up my chances of having more songs signed to that library ? Thanks !!

Mathieu

Awesome! 8-) Since you have a relationship now with them, you could ask them what styles they are most in need of right now.

Good luck! :D

I wouldn't send 40... you might consider creating a Spotify list of some of your best work. Include just a couple for each of your main genres. Title them appropriately, like "My Cool Song Title (in the style of <artist name or tv show>). This way your contact can quickly decide what they want to hear and then see how their perceptions of those styles match yours. (remember, time is not something sups/librarians have lots of). Then email them your link.. just don't pester them with a lot of emails, that's a quick way to burn a bridge.

Good luck!
