Multiple Libraries pitching same song?

Hey all,

I got a question regarding non-exclusive tracks that have been signed with multiple libraries, and end up pitching the same song to a show. Has this happened to anyone before, and were there any potential issues arising from it? I'm guessing it's kind of out of my hands, but I'm just wondering if it has ever adversely affected your relationship with a library. Or any issues from the supervisors standpoint getting pitched the same song by multiple libraries?

Thanks in advance!

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

I recently received 3 briefs from 3 different libraries.... all were for music for the same show.
But... I only sent new music to 1 of the libraries.... why did I send tracks to only 1? I'm not sure!

2 of the libraries are are non-exclusive and 1 is exclusive....
But I sent the new tracks to a non-exclusive library.......why???? I don't know!

I did also send a few (not quite my best work) to the other non-exclusive library.

It was a toss up between the exclusive library and 1 of the non-exclusive libraries...(for the new tracks). They both are very good at getting tons of placements.

I hope this makes sense to you.....because it sure doesn't to me!!!!

My 2 non-exclusive cents worth, (or is it exclusive)?
Tim

Yes I often get the same briefs from 3/4 Libs within a day or two
