Revisions for Non-exclusives?

Hey everyone!

Just curious if anyone has any thoughts regarding a situation I'm running into. A library is asking for revisions for a song I have signed already with another library non-exclusively. I'm tryin to figure out if 1) I should know anything in regards to this that a newbie might not know, 2) how this affects the reporting/PRO registration process if at all, and 3) at what point does the song become a different entity altogether? (i.e. if a library were to ask me to change an entire section or change something else major)

Thanks!!!

Andrew

so you signed the tune with Library B a while back.

Now library A is asking you to revise sections of the song to work for their purposes?

And both are non-exclusive libraries?

then there is no issue - just the same as you have two titles, now you have two slightly different songs.

Only issue would be if you then take one of those sections of a song and rework it into another piece and try to sign exclusively.

As long as its all non-ex then its all fair game.

I am no expert, but it seems to me that you would just have two versions of the same song. And then since its still technically the same song, you shouldn't have any issues. That's my take on it, anyway.
