Hi guys,

I have signed a an exclusive contract with a library for 2 albums. My question is, am I allowed to sell those tracks on my website or is that something that I should not be doing? Do I need to gain the library's permission to do this? I really am unsure. if anybody has sound knowledge of this please leave a reply. It would be much appreciated.
Stay safe in these crazy times :)

Hi, this varies from entity to entity so whether you retain the right to sell your works publicly would depend entirely on the agreement you signed. I would say (hindsight is 20-20) that you should have clarified this before signing, but now that you have, it's up to you to ensure you are adhereing to the letter of the contract. Read it again and if this is not covered, then I think a polite email asking for clarification would be okay. Or confer with an Entertainment Lawyer so you understand the agreement. Be prepared to take your work off the market if that is what you have agreed to do.
