Reasonable term for a music library

Hi to all. Here's my questions. I have read a bunch of agreements with music libraries/catalogues and recently read one where they wanted a 3 year term for a non-exclusive contract. My initial reaction was that it was too long but then as I thought about it, I keep ownership interest in songs and it is non-exclusive so what is the downside for a 3 year term? Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

3 years seems sensible and reasonable to me. I do have one two-year contract, but I think that's a little short.

3 years is not long at all. What is their placement track record? That's the much more important thing.
Also, some non-exclusive contracts have a clause where with a certain amount of notice, they will remove a song on request as long as there are no active pitches. This isn't possible with all library business models-- some send out tracks on hard disks or CDs/DVDs and once they are "out there" can't take anything back-- very reasonable. There are other reasons why some libraries won't do this- all valid... If this clause is not in this library's contract, don't worry about it. 3 years isn't that long in this business.
