BMI Classical Registration

Post by milesbparty » Thu Dec 17, 2009 7:59 pm

Hello,

I recently wrote some chamber music (string quartets and quintets), and I'm a bit confused by trying to register the songs with BMI. If I choose genre as "Classical Music" it tells me I need to register it on the "Classical Music Registration Forms". If I go to the classical section of the BMI website it says:

"To affiliate with BMI as a classical composer, please send a copy of your resume and a list of works with information on performances and venues to classical@bmi.com."

Does anyone have any experience registering their classical music with BMI? Do I really need to affiliate with BMI as a classical composer?

Thanks,
Paul
