Help on Entity Formation

Hey Guys, Im so happy to be apart of taxi's community.
Im a instrumental composer/producer and me and my guys want to ink our business. I've done some research but im still unclear of what EXACTLY i need to run my business legit. My goal is to register my business under a fictitious name. (i already know trademarking for my logo). I want to open up a business banking account and in the event that someone wants to write a check in the name of my business i can cash it in.
My budget is low so I'm hoping you guys have a few tips.
