Exclusive deals?

Just wondering what you all think on exclusive deals with libraries. I had an offer to sign some pieces to an exclusive deal. Of course the songs they want are already signed to 14 other non-exclusive libraries :lol: No really..they are. Most of the libraries I've signed with have taken my whole catalog.
So anyway, the guy with the exclusive deal left it open for me to write something for his library, so I'm looking for pros & cons.
He also was of the opinion that the whole re-titleing thing is bad for the biz. His logic being that a music supervisor will find the same piece umpteen times with different names.

The libraries that are harder to get into tend to be the ones that can do you the most good. (and they tend to be exclusive) I'd be more inclined to take an exclusive deal, given a 3-5 yr reversion clause, because I expect them to work my tracks, particularly where there are license fees involved. Non-exclusives, your tracks can sit online waiting to be stumbled on, though this isn't always the case. You really need as much info as you can get on any library, which I guess goes without saying, heh.

In your shoes, I'd consider withdrawing some or all tracks from the non-exclusive libraries if you haven't gotten traction with them in a reasonable time frame, say 6-18 mo, and maybe give the exclusive company a shot with a couple, even if you have seen some action.
