Hi Guys!
I may be moving to the Bay Area soon, and want to update promo photos. My new iMac with Gimp processing is an amazing photo duo!
Here are some candidates:

(My rock image).

(Me appealing to my veteran friends).

(My NRA image).

(My "Angus Young" image).

(My "Margaritaville" image).
Please Help! Thanxs.

#1- Looks like a nascar driver, Dale ernstenhart??
#2- Looks like a new recruit
#3- Too Steven Segal, or cop show, bounty hunter type
#4- Ian Anderson. Where's the flute?
#5- It reminds me of someone I saw on tv, I don't know the name, maybe the happy gardner or something.
I'd have to go with #4, Ian Anderson.

Len, y'know that someone that was a roadie for me years ago said
the same thing! recently. Amazing.
BUT, someone else said "Keep the hat on --- Always!" Cripes, I've worn a hat onstage since I was 25 --- Blame my dad! You always think that male balding patterns are from the female side of the family, but think again. ALL the males on my Dad's side of the family are/were bald!

Lol! Fwiw, don't all bald country singers wear cowboy hats? I would say that if you wear a hat onstage and people see you off stage without a hat, they will probably tell you they thought you were bald, lol! If you worry about those things, it might be better not to wear a hat.

Hey Ern,
These photos don't come across as professional to me and maybe that's what you want to portray, but if not, I suggest you find a friend that has experience with promo photos or hire someone to do it if you want to go that route. I think if someone doesn't know you yet and is considering you as a collaborator or potential bandmate, these photos might not be making the kind of first impression you may think they are.
As forum avatars they may work, but as an introduction to the bay area, maybe not so much.
Just my opinion
Cheers!
Mazz

Call me conservative but I feel maybe that shotgun picture sends out the wrong message.

Mazz & Bassman,
These are basically a joke! Kinda which
HAT looks best.

--- Mazz, if we get to know each other in person sometime, you'll find out that I have a weird sense of humor (which you should know by now!). And Bassman, that is a pellet gun and is
DEFINITELY a joke! I'm totally anti-gun, except for the real meaning of the 2nd Amendment as established by our founding fathers. Assault rifles needn't apply!

Alright, I realize I'm being totally unprofessional. I need to focus on what market I'm going for. Thinking I'm going to be a "rock star" is complete nonsense. I'm obviously too old for that. I want to play blues/rock guitar, but that's just another dream. --- I
know how to make $$ --- My dad gigged for 40 years, and told me the secret: Old People Have All The Money!
Here's a new promo photo for the old folks where I pulled my hair back. Think of "5'2", Eyes of Blue" and "The Red Red Robin."

Then, there's the country club crowd where they just want to drink, and music is in the background (but, you bet I'll get my share of women with this one!):

Finally, I could form a wedding band. My idea is to call it "The Hat Band," and throw hats into the crowd after the father/daughter dance. Yea, that's the ticket!
