I have a new cue sheet showing up in my ASCAP account. But there is no reference to/record of the royalty to be paid.

I've only had one other cue sheet/royalty show up in my ASCAP account and they showed up at the same time. First there was nothing, and then there was a cue sheet and a royalty balance. Now I have a new cue sheet, but no new royalty balance.

I researched the episode name and only found promo for it. It was supposed to air August 4th, but I don't think it did. So I'm wondering if this is why there is no info regarding the royalty payment in my ASCAP account? And I will only get paid if the show in fact airs?

I guess my real question is this:

Are there cases in which a cue sheet with your song shows up in your online ASCAP account, but you do not get paid by ASCAP because the show never aired?

The cue sheets don't show the royalty amount, they are just the record that your music was placed in that show and how long the usage was.

On your member page in the lower right hand corner, there's a link called "Distribution Schedule". If you click that, you'll see that writers get paid on April 11th for performances from the third quarter of 2010. So the royalties are 6 months behind the placements, generally.

The royalty amounts that show up in your account are what you've already been paid, year to date. You can also search previous statements going back about 2 years, which I think is when they started doing electronic records of the royalty statements.
