Hi I only one song playing I think on one station in the Caribbean and I've just recently moved to Australia.Got a few tracks online. not really published yet.I see APRA in Australia requires you be a sole business owner and have a Australian Business Number (ABN) to avoid being over taxed.Should I wait until my first placement before I join a PRO?Its all very confusing. It's not like I'll be making a lot of money.

many libraries/publishers require you to be a member of a PRO when you sign with them.so if I was you - yes, I'd become a member of your PRO (APRA in your case) if you plan to try to achieve deals with publishers and the like / commercially exploit your music.hth, martin

Yes, I would. At least I did, back before I got any placements. That way you're all set up and ready for when you do get in with a library or publisher.
