Tempo mapping for audio

IS there a way to change tempo on audio files, some transferred from midi files, to make the song sound more 'like a live drummer' and not so quantized/metronome-like? I'm using Sonar X2 and the tempo map says I'm changing tempo, but my ears say no.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
Terry

yes. I don't know what it's called in sonar, but you are essentially slicing loops.

Len911-
Thanks but I don't really follow you. What do you mean? Slice loops? into smaller sections or???

Terry, I assumed by audio you meant samples.

if you meant a fully mixed audio file of a complete song, I don't think there would be anything that would be acceptable. Tweaking the midi file before rendering to audio would be the standard way.
