Will I have to up grade my memory on my I MAC which I arm running Logic 9.1.8 My MAC IS OS X YOSEMITE 10.10.5 I have 246.41 GB FREE OF 499.25GB Looking at the specs for k10U Requires 12 GB free disc space / 320 GB for complete installation, USB 2.0 port. Speciļ¬c requirements vary depending on the individual program.
The applications alone require 12 GB free disk space, the libraries require 308 GB on top = 320 GB free disk space in total. Note that the library size is 440 GB if uncompressed, but several libraries are compressed using advanced KONTAKT Lossless Sample Compression. SO to make a long story short do I have enough GB to run K10 U WITH MY LOGIC PRO 9.1.8

Short answer no.
For ~$100 you can give the samples their own external hdd. It's best not to over-tax one hdd with everything, less potential problems and longer drive life. hth
There are of course different options depending on your set-up, there are thunderbolt hdds as well.

Yeah, you'll likely need to stream the samples from an external drive; the faster the better and it should be at least twice the size of the sample set that lives there, though that last may be slightly less true for an SSD. Spinning hard disks take a performance hit, once they're more than half full.

I've been hosting Komplete 10 on my computer for a while and my computer is so horribly slow and i get the spinning beach ball all the time. I've finally made the switch to streaming from an external drive and it's making a huge difference. Next i'm gonna swap out my computer's spinning hard drive for a solid state

Hopefully you can skip straight to the huge difference part and skip the months of banging your head against the wall with an overly full, laggy machine

I think most of us prefer the head banging part, experimental learning

Yes, I know I will probably still go through that , but I feel now that my material will have a better sound I am proud of what I did accomplish using my logic 9.I will still use it. I do remember at the 2015 Rally after my one on one the LB OWNER who listened said Ron you have some nice ideas but you need to up grade your sound. I realize this is an extension of my origin in the world of media composing. I am feeling good ready to pursue my life long dream. Many changes are about to happen in my life one more year in Florida then back to The windy city. Would also love to collaborate. As the JB SONG GOES BEEN RUNNING ON EMPTY for quite a while BUT THE TANK IS STARTING TO FILL UP.
Thank you Taxi
Ron

You can also choose what you want to install. It doesn't have to be the whole shebang at first. The session horns, studio drummer, and session strings are the most taxing on your system I find. Hope that helps.
