I've gtot a simple Behringer Xenyx802 as my output for my monitors. I just bought a single/mono monitor... does it make a difference if i use the single headphone out versus the pair of ctrl-room outs? I want to be sure I am getting an accurate mono mix. I would think not, buy you never know...

Ah, what you need is to sum to mono, then it doesn't matter which output you use; your DAW may have a button for this or you might require a special plugin. A better option would be to get a dedicated monitor controller. Mackie's Big Knob is probably the cheapest good one, and Presonus has something comparable for a little more, but check this out: http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/iD22

Here's what TapeOp said: http://tapeop.com/reviews/gear/104/id22 ... interface/

I mention, because Behringer's Xenyx preamps are....adequate, and I have learned that the fewer preamps you have, the more they make a difference in how things stack, sit or blend in a mix. This might not matter, if you don't record live instruments, but as I recall, you most certainly do. :D
