Hi there!
Not sure if I understand your question.

Is it a software or hardware problem? Is your controller keyboard physically behaving strange (mod/pitch wheel) or is it the Garritan software that is behaving strange?

If you have a USB controller keyboard I recommend that you are using exactly the same USB port on your computer as you did before.

Power down your computer, controller keyboard and interface.

Disconnect your controller keyboard from the computer and the interface.

Disconnect any other MIDI devices from the interface and computer.

Power up the interface, then the computer.

Open your DAW and attempt playback.

Tell us the result.

I'd try a different daw. Not knowing what OS you have, this one probably covers the spectrum better, even Windows xp.
That's an older version of Pro Tools, and pt isn't known for playing well with midi.

The point of all that was to try and isolate the problem to see if it's hardware or software that's causing GPO to behave oddly. If your files played back correctly with your controllers detached, that would mean your controllers likely need recalibration; maybe a factory reset or a firmware update. I can't be of further help without knowing your DAW and OS. It would also be helpful to know the make and model of your controller keyboard.

Seems to me, Garritan is either responding to legit MIDI data from some source or data it misinterprets as pitch and mod data, so the routing of such data within the DAW might be worth a look. It's also possible a bad or cheap data cable is at fault.

If Garritan has a standalone, I would try that first before opening it up as a vst inside ProTools. If it works, then that tells us it's within the pro tools settings, and not something in the keyboard or midi interface. Also, if you have any other standalone apps, like east/west, to test, that might eliminate the Garritan.

its not a garritan problem. nothing works with my midi keys. garritan, play, addictive drums, xpand... my controller is not connected to my setup. everything is connected but no sound

it stopped working when i turned off the speakers and disconnected the midi cords to my keys. i did this to try to fix another problem which was my mod and pitch wheels were moving in garritan and screwed up the sound
