mac running slow freezing

I downloaded string ensemble from NI I just downloaded the brass series i have logic pro 9.1.8 it continues to freeze I am trying different methods such as deleting duplicate files, getting rid of junk files MY MAC RUNS 10.5.10 OX Should I update to logic x?

Ron, upgrading OS and Logic is probably not so much the problem. More likely memory or
Intel i5 processor recommended.
. You don't say what your mac specs are, there are also things you might do on the Kontakt settings page, how it streams from disk... You also don't say how many tracks you have going at once etc., your work flow or how you are using it. Does the version of Logic you are using allow you to freeze tracks?
